POSITION TITLE:                  Autism Support assistant

LOCATION:                            KPAS South East Region

SALARY RANGE:                    $14.58 - $18.10 per hour

POSITION STATUS:                Part-time

HOURS OF WORK:                  7 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.

                                               (days, evenings & weekend shifts)

Key Responsibilities:    

Reporting to the Manager, the part-time Autism Support Assistant will assist in providing support, coaching and training in the areas of social/life/academic skills, communication, behaviour management, vocational and leisure activities to autistic Individuals living the South East Region residential program.  In addition to the above, the candidate will be involved with dispensing of medication.

Qualifications:

The successful applicant will have proven practical experience in Autism support, along with strong skills in the areas of verbal and written communication, motivation, and teamwork.

Secondary school diploma and 1 year practical experience working directly with Individuals with Autism/PDD are required. CPI certification and crisis intervention skills are required and current first aid, CPR, and pharmacology certification are considered to be assets. 

A valid Driver’s License, with a minimum G2 standing is required.
