Recruitment of Paediatric Therapists

The new Children’s Treatment Network of Simcoe York (CTN) requires a range of paediatric therapists to work within an exciting and innovative structure and environment. This ground-breaking collaborative network will provide a single plan of care that coordinates services from many agencies, and represents a giant step forward for the long-term development and support of these children and their families.

CTN is a not-for-profit organization funded by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services with the goal of creating an integrated children’s rehabilitation system in Simcoe County and York Region for children and youth aged birth to 19 who have special physical, developmental and/or communications needs. This unique integrated network model builds on the strengths of existing service providers and organizations to create a revolutionary approach to long-term rehabilitation, while simplifying access and care coordination for parents.

Staff of the CTN will be hosted in a variety of local agencies currently providing services to this population within York Region and Simcoe County in the central region of Ontario:

The following therapists are required:

Please note that CTN will provide opportunities for therapists who have a range of experience and expertise, from recent graduates to those with highly specialized skills and experience.  Experience working with diverse, multicultural client groups and fluency in languages other than English would be an asset. Preference will be given to candidates who are fluent in Canada’s official languages.

Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs)

A range of SLPs are required, including those with basic paediatric experience as well as those with expertise in augmentative communication, feeding/swallowing and hearing loss

Communication Disorder Assistants (CDAs)

CDAs with a range of paediatric experience up to and including the ability to support augmentative communication systems and the adaptation of high and low tech devices

Paediatric Therapists – Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists

Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists with a range of paediatric experience including specialties such as augmentative communication, feeding, seating and adaptive equipment

PT and OT Assistants (PTAs and OTAs)

PTAs and OTAs with paediatric experience are needed to assist in implementing and monitoring treatment plans in multi-disciplinary teams under the direction of physio- and occupational therapists

 Social Work

Social Workers who are experienced in working with children and youth with disabilities, and skilled in the assessment of family dynamics, as well as working effectively with individuals, families and groups

Therapists must be a graduate of a recognized program and registered with the appropriate regulatory college.  In addition to the positions listed above, CTN will also require professionals experienced in serving children and youth with disabilities and their families, to serve as service coordinators.  Service coordinators may be drawn from a range of disciplines.

Location:

There are a variety of geographic locations that require these resources within York Region and Simcoe County.  Suitable candidates will be contacted to discuss their geographic preference.

Salary:

Salary is commensurate with the skills, knowledge and responsibility required of the position.  A standard benefits package is included (details will be provided to those candidates who are asked to attend an interview).
