MAKING THE TRANSITION: UNDERSTANDING ESSENTIAL SKILLS FOR EMPLOYMENT
"Giving the opportunity for a better future"


The objective of the group is to facilitate the development of the social skills necessary to attain meaningful, independent and suitable employment for persons living with a diagnosis of P.D.D./ Autism Spectrum Disorder, including Asperger’s Syndrome.
The group is aimed at individuals who are interested in developing skills to broaden their future life options.
The seminars will include discussions of essential general social skills, along with specific workplace social skills.
Topics that will be addressed include:

  • Responsibilities of employment
  • Relationships
  • Understanding emotions
  • Anger / stress management
  • Problem-solving
  • Assertiveness
  • Self-confidence / appearance
  • Organizational skills and management

The Community Crisis Response Network supports persons in crisis whose needs require immediate response from a range of service providers. Connected by formal working partnerships, the Network responds to an immediate crisis and ensures the appropriate linkages for a longer-term solution.
